Managing Expectations

Image
Good Morning!  Little Jack did not expect the sword to be so difficult to remove from the stone! Over the last few weeks, I have had the opportunity to help several people in the planning process of their Disneyland vacations - one of my absolute favorite things to be able to help with! It's given me the chance to think about the most important piece of advice I can give to those going for their first time - and today I'm going to share that with you! It all boils down to one word: expectations. It's never pleasant when we go somewhere with high expectations, just to find that reality is not at all what we had in mind! It always makes me sad to see guests who did not go with the right expectations, because they often leave having a sour experience that could have been prevented. Planning a Disney trip with the proper expectations in mind can help reduce stress and avoid unpleasant surprises! Here are a few things to keep in mind: 1. Lines are long! In my experience, this is...

Mobile Ordering at Disneyland

Image
Good Morning! Flo's V8 Cafe has a great breakfast menu! You can order on the app while standing in line to get your Radiator Springs FASTPASSES! Many of us are getting ready for the Holiday season around our homes, and many are heading to Disneyland to experience Christmas time at the resort! I have never been for Christmas, but it is on my bucket list! While there, you might be looking for ways to avoid the crowds, and one way is to take advantage of the mobile ordering service available at many restaurants around the resort!  Disneyland implemented  mobile ordering back in late 2018, so if you haven't been this year, this system may be new to you! We tried this out for the first time back in May, and it really made for a smooth dining experience. Last week we talked about how the Disneyland app turns your phone into your FASTPASS , PhotoPass, and park ticket. This week we will talk about how the app also turns your phone into your restaurant menu! The Disneyland ...

Our Top 5 Favorite Restaurants!

Image
Good Morning! I figured we haven't had enough dining posts just yet! ;) So this week we are going to dive into our family's top 5 favorite restaurants in the Disneyland Resort! This list doesn't include snack carts or walk-up type restaurants (or else the Turkey Leg Stand would be included!!), and all restaurants have been judged based on both theming and food! Let's start with number 5 on our list! 5. Alien Pizza Planet (Redd Rocket's Pizza Port) I really like the food at this restaurant! This is a cafeteria-style dining experience that serves pizza, pasta, and salads! I know their food isn't the best quality that you can find at Disneyland, but I still really like their (large) pepperoni pizza slices, and Count Down Chicken Fusilli, which is Fusilli pasta, grilled chicken, Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and a Parmesean-Pesto Cream Sauce to top it off! I haven't been able to go see the Pizza Planet overlay yet, but I do hold the unpopular opini...

Top 5 Favorite Disney Snacks

Image
Good Monday Evening! After two weeks of posting on Tuesdays, we are back on schedule! Photo sent straight from Disneyland! Jack is enjoying his churro today! Last week we talked about our favorite "Can't-Miss Shows" at the Disneyland Resort. This week - our favorite can't-miss snacks! As I mentioned several weeks back , I highly recommend stashing snacks from the store in a bag or backpack to save money throughout the day. However, there's nothing wrong with stopping for an in-park snack or two during your stay! Here are our favorites! (Also a big thanks to my parents and Jack who took a ton of time today to fill my many live-from-the-park photo requests for this post!) 1. Cream Cheese Filled Pretzels. If you have been following our blog for a while, this one will come as no surprise. I LOVE Disney's Cream Cheese Filled Pretzels. You can score one of these at the Refreshment corner or at most pretzel carts around Disneyland and California Advent...

Good Evening and welcome to another Monday post!  No matter how many times I go, I still can't wait to go back!  (Photo taken 2 years ago during the 60th Anniversary of Disneyland.) This week, a new look and a fun post! Do you ever find yourself suffering from Disneyland withdrawals? Ever find yourself at work watching the live feed from the Howard Johnson Hotel's  Mattercam  or scrolling through Disneyland Photo Updates from MiceChat? (Just me?) Well look no further, here are some fun ways to cure your Disneyland withdrawals until your next trip!!* *disclaimer: none of the sites/podcasts/etc. I am posting about have asked me to advertise for them. I mention them because they deserve it! 1. Window to the Magic There are few "free" things (if any) I have ever come across that I have actually been willing to subscribe to a monthly supporting payment. Window to the Magic is one of those things. Window to the Magic is a wonderful (free!) podcast run by Pa...
