5 MORE Things We Take to the Parks!

Good Morning!

Once upon a time, we posted about the top 5 things we always pack for Disneyland! This week we are back with 5 MORE things we always take with us! Let's get started! As I did last time, I'll include links to some of my favorite products. (Note: These aren't affiliate links, just links to some products I like.)

1. A Fan

This handheld fan came from a shop at the China Pavilion at Epcot!

Whether you bring a misting fan, a necklace fan, or a handheld fan, these are a MUST in the parks! My go-to the handheld fan because I get more control and air flow than with other fans - plus it doesn't require batteries! I find the misting fans are a bit too bulky to carry around for my taste, however, they also do a great job of cooling you down! My second favorite fan would be the necklace fan. It's hands free, and the batteries last a good amount of time, although they don't quite give the same amount of air flow as a handheld fan does. My parents bought these ones and we have all really liked them.

2. Sunglasses
It's hot and sunny in SoCal! A day without a good pair of sunglasses can mean a nasty headache for you. Believe me, I know from experience. Fair warning: sunglasses in the park cost a lot more than sunglasses on Amazon, so plan ahead of time! Here is the link for my favorite pair that have lasted several years. Fun fact: the time I ordered said pair of sunglasses, I forgot until a couple days before we left, and Amazon couldn't get them to me until the day we would have arrived in California. So I called our hotel and learned that you can have packages delivered to you at the hotel! The receptionist had the sunglasses waiting for me at the front desk when we checked in, which was super slick. Definitely check to see how soon Amazon can deliver to your hotel before paying $30+ for a pair at Downtown Disney.

3. Portable Chargers

We bought this portable charger off Amazon years ago. Works like a charm!

With the parks utilizing mobile devices for food orders, interactive elements, reservations, wait times, Genie+, park tickets, and more, your park experience relies fairly heavily on the Disneyland App and the Disney Play App. Thanks to that, along with anything else you use your phone for throughout the day, you go through a lot of battery life! A portable charger is a MUST for keeping up with wait times, reservations, and interactive elements! We purchased ours from Amazon and it certainly gets a lot of use. Disneyland has Fuel Rod stations throughout the park that you can use for this purpose if you don't get a portable charger ahead of your trip. These cost around $30, and come with all the charging cables you need. Once one fuel rod drains, you just go back to a Fuel Rod kiosk and switch it out for a fully charged one!

4. A Pen & A Map
An easy thing to tuck in a pocket or a purse, we always bring a pen with us and snag an extra map on the way in the parks! We use this map as our "game plan", marking off everything we've done and keeping track of the things we want to do each day. This helps us keep track of what we're doing and hit everything we want to by the time the trip is over!

5. A Pair of Good Headphones
Now you may not need these much in the park itself, BUT these are still a must for the vacation as a whole! Headphones are perfect for watching a movie after the kids go to bed without waking them up, listening to music without disturbing your neighbors, or keeping entertained in the car or on the flight to and from Disneyland! If you are flying, I recommend noise cancelling headphones as they will help drown out the engine noises and aid in keeping your ears from plugging up! (Tip: take some gum with you to help your ears pop with altitude changes! If traveling with a baby, a binkie can help their ears as well.) I usually travel with a pair of over the ear headphones as well as my airpods. This headset isn't noise canceling, but they are a good price and they've worked really well for flights.
